How Poshmark offers work out
- The fee is on the offer, not your list price. Poshmark charges a flat $2.95 when the final price is under $15, and 20% when it is $15 or more. A lower offer means a lower fee, so each dollar you drop costs you about 80 cents.
- The fee jumps at $15. At $14.99 you pay the flat $2.95 and keep $12.04. At $15.00 you pay 20% ($3.00) and keep $12.00. So an offer just under $15 can leave you with slightly more than an offer at $15.
- Shipping discount: the buyer pays Poshmark's flat $6.49 label (up to 5 lb). If you offer a discount, it comes out of your earnings, whatever the offer is: enter $1.50 to bring the buyer's shipping down to $4.99, or $6.49 for free shipping.
- Other costs are anything else you pay on this sale, such as packaging, or postage over 5 lb. They come off your profit too.
- Texas sellers also pay a Texas tax on Poshmark's fees (since October 1, 2025). It isn't included here, so add it to Other costs. The details are on Poshmark's Texas page, linked under Sources.
- Bundles: a bundle is one order with one fee on its total. If a buyer offers on a bundle, enter the bundle's list price and what you paid for all the items.
- How the lowest offer is found: it solves for the offer where your earnings cover your costs and your target, using the flat fee or the 20% rate. It rounds up to the cent, then steps down a cent at a time while the target is still met, because Poshmark rounds its fee to the cent. The result is the true minimum, not an estimate.
Worked example
Example. A jacket is listed at $48.00. You paid $9.00, you offer no shipping discount, you spend $0.50 on packaging and you want $20.00 profit. The lowest offer that makes $20.00 is $36.87, 76.8% of the list price.
| Offer | Price | Poshmark fee | You earn | Profit | Margin | Target |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 100% | $48.00 | $9.60 | $38.40 | $28.90 | 60.2% | Meets target |
| 95% | $45.60 | $9.12 | $36.48 | $26.98 | 59.2% | Meets target |
| 90% | $43.20 | $8.64 | $34.56 | $25.06 | 58.0% | Meets target |
| 85% | $40.80 | $8.16 | $32.64 | $23.14 | 56.7% | Meets target |
| 80% | $38.40 | $7.68 | $30.72 | $21.22 | 55.3% | Meets target |
| 75% | $36.00 | $7.20 | $28.80 | $19.30 | 53.6% | Below target |
| 70% | $33.60 | $6.72 | $26.88 | $17.38 | 51.7% | Below target |
| 65% | $31.20 | $6.24 | $24.96 | $15.46 | 49.6% | Below target |
| 60% | $28.80 | $5.76 | $23.04 | $13.54 | 47.0% | Below target |
Profit is what you earn minus $9.00 for the item and $0.50 of other costs. At $36.87 Poshmark takes $7.37, you earn $29.50 and your profit is $20.00; one cent lower, at $36.86, it is $19.99.
Frequently asked questions
What is the lowest offer I can accept on Poshmark and still make a profit?
It depends on what the item cost you, your shipping discount, your other costs and the profit you want. In the example above (a $48.00 listing that cost $9.00, with $0.50 of other costs and a $20.00 target), the lowest offer is $36.87, which is 76.8% of the list price.
Why isn't the lowest offer just my costs divided by 0.8?
That is the right idea (Poshmark keeps 20%), but the fee is rounded to the cent. Dividing the $29.50 you need by 0.8 and rounding up gives $36.88, yet at $36.87 Poshmark's fee rounds down to $7.37, so you still keep $29.50 and make $20.00. At $36.86 you would make $19.99, so $36.87 is the lowest.
How does a shipping discount change the lowest offer?
Each dollar of shipping discount you cover raises the lowest offer by about $1.25, because Poshmark keeps 20% of the extra. In the example, a $1.50 shipping discount (the buyer pays $4.99) raises the lowest offer from $36.87 to $38.75, and free shipping ($6.49 from you) raises it to $44.99.
What if the lowest offer is higher than my list price?
Then you can't make your target at that price, even with no offer. The calculator tells you how much you would need to list for. Raise the list price, lower your costs or lower the target.
Do I pay Poshmark's fee on the offer or on my list price?
On the final price the buyer pays for the item, which is the accepted offer, not your original list price. A flat $2.95 fee applies if that price is under $15.
