Is an eBay Store Worth It? (2026 Calculator)

How an eBay Store pays off
- The fee discount is the point. A Basic, Premium or Anchor Store lowers the final value fee in many categories, such as most categories from 13.6% to 12.7% and most electronics from 13.6% to 9.35%. The per-order fee doesn't change.
- Starter Store gets no fee discount. Starter subscribers pay the standard fees, so for lower fees compare Basic, Premium and Anchor.
- Higher tiers have the same fee rates as Basic. eBay's Store fee table lists one set of rates for Basic, Premium and Anchor, so the fee savings are the same at every tier and only the subscription price differs.
- Free listings aren't counted. Sellers without a Store get 250 free listings a month and pay $0.35 per listing after that. A Store changes that, but this calculator looks only at selling fees.
- Use the whole amount the buyer pays. eBay's fee is charged on the item, shipping and sales tax together, so enter the average total of a sale, not just the item price.
- Monthly or yearly renewal. A yearly subscription is a lower monthly price with a 12-month commitment, so it needs less in savings to pay off.
Worked example
Example. You sell 40 items a month at an average of $38.00 in most categories and 6 items at $120.00 in electronics. A Basic Store saves $13.60 a month on the first group and $30.60 on the second, $44.20 in all. That is $16.25 more than the Basic monthly price of $27.95 and $22.25 more than the $21.95 yearly-renewal price.
| Category | Sales per month | Average sale total | Fees per sale, no Store | Fees per sale, Basic+ Store | Saved per month |

| Fee savings per month with a Basic, Premium or Anchor Store | $44.20 | ||||
Fees per sale are the final value fee plus the per-order fee. The per-order fee is the same with or without a Store.

Frequently asked questions
Is an eBay Store worth it?
It is when the fee savings are more than the subscription. A Basic Store costs $27.95 a month ($21.95 on a yearly plan). It saves about $0.34 on a $38 sale in most categories, so you'd need about 65 such sales a month to cover the yearly price. Electronics save more per sale: $5.10 on a $120 sale.
How much does an eBay Store cost?
Starter is $7.95 a month ($4.95 on a yearly plan) with no fee discount; Basic is $27.95 a month ($21.95 on a yearly plan); Premium is $74.95 a month ($59.95 on a yearly plan); Anchor is $349.95 a month ($299.95 on a yearly plan). Prices are the renewal prices from eBay's Store fee page.
Does a Premium or Anchor Store lower my fees more than Basic?
No. eBay's Store fee table lists the same final value fee rates for Basic, Premium and Anchor. The higher tiers cost more without lowering the fee percentage, so choose them only for reasons other than the final value fee.
Does a Starter Store lower eBay fees?
No. Starter Store sellers pay the standard final value fees, the same as sellers without a Store.
Does this calculator include listing fees?
No. It compares final value fees and per-order fees only. Sellers without a Store get 250 free listings a month, then pay $0.35 per listing, and a Store changes those allowances.
Which eBay categories save the most with a Store?
Those where the Store rate is much lower than the standard rate. Most electronics drop from 13.6% to 9.35% with a Store, a bigger cut than most categories, which go from 13.6% to 12.7%. Pick your categories in the calculator to see the exact savings.
