How GOAT fees work in 2026
- Commission: charged only when an item sells and deducted from the listing price. It depends on your seller rating: 9.5% at 90 or above, 15% at 70 to 89, 20% at 50 to 69 and 25% below 50. Canadian sellers pay 2.9 points more; this calculator models US sellers only.
- Your rating: every seller starts at 90, so a new seller pays 9.5% plus the seller fee. Each seller cancellation costs 10 points and each successful sale adds 2, so a few cancellations can move you into a higher commission.
- Seller fee: for US sellers, $0 per sale if you drop the item off at a GOAT location and $5 if you use a prepaid shipping label.
- Cash out fee: 2.9% of your earnings when GOAT deposits them by ACH direct deposit or PayPal. It's optional if you keep the balance on GOAT, GOAT may reduce or waive it in promotions, and sellers can cash out above $25. Here it's figured on the price minus the commission and seller fee.
- Shipping and tax: the buyer pays both, so neither changes what you keep.
- Tracking it: add GOAT as one of your own platform rows in the Reseller Profit & Inventory Tracker.
Example: a $200 sale at rating 90 or above with a prepaid label, cashed out by ACH
| GOAT commission (9.5%) | $19.00 |
| Seller fee (prepaid shipping) | $5.00 |
| Cash out fee (2.9%) | $5.10 |
| Total fees | $29.10 |
|---|---|
| You keep (before item cost) | $170.90 |
That's 14.6% of the sale price.

What are GOAT's seller fees in 2026?
A commission on the listing price set by your seller rating (9.5% at 90 or above, 15% at 70 to 89, 20% at 50 to 69, 25% below 50), a seller fee of $0 with drop-off or $5 with prepaid shipping, and a 2.9% cash out fee if you withdraw by ACH or PayPal. These are the US rates.
How much does GOAT take from a $200 sale?
At a rating of 90 or above with a prepaid label and cash out by ACH or PayPal, the commission is $19.00, the seller fee $5.00 and the cash out fee $5.10. That's $29.10 in all (14.6%), so you'd keep $170.90. If you keep the balance on GOAT instead of cashing out, you'd keep $176.00.
What does a lower seller rating cost me?
On the same $200 sale with a prepaid label and cash out, the commission is $19.00 at 90 or above, $30.00 at 70 to 89 (you keep $160.21), $40.00 at 50 to 69 (you keep $150.50) and $50.00 below 50 (you keep $140.79).
What is a new GOAT seller's rating?
Every seller starts at 90, so a new seller pays the lowest commission, 9.5%, plus the seller fee. Each seller cancellation costs 10 points and each successful sale adds 2.
Do I have to pay GOAT's cash out fee?
Only if you cash out by ACH direct deposit or PayPal, where it's 2.9% of your earnings. If you keep the balance on GOAT you don't pay it, and GOAT may reduce or waive it in promotions. Sellers can cash out above $25.
Is a drop-off cheaper than prepaid shipping on GOAT?
Yes by the seller fee: $0 for a drop-off against $5 for a prepaid label. On a $200 sale at rating 90 with cash out, a drop-off keeps you $175.75 against $170.90.
Does GOAT charge fees on shipping and sales tax?
No. The buyer pays shipping and sales tax, so the commission is on the listing price only.
Where should you sell it?
Fees are only part of the story, since shipping, speed and audience matter too. Use the Where Should I Sell? comparison to see your profit on every platform at once.
