How TikTok Shop and eBay fees differ
- TikTok Shop: a 6% referral fee on the item price plus shipping for most US categories (5% for some jewelry and pre-owned items). Payment processing is included. Creator affiliate commissions, if you use them, are extra.
- eBay: 13.6% for most categories without a Store (12.7% with a Basic, Premium or Anchor Store), plus $0.40 per order ($0.30 if the order is $10 or less). The percentage applies to the item, shipping and sales tax together.
- The difference: at $25 TikTok Shop's fee is $1.98 and eBay's is $5.22. At $100 it's $6.48 against $16.19, and at $250 $15.48 against $38.12.
- Even at 8%: some sellers report an 8% referral fee since August 2026, while TikTok's public rate table still shows 6%. At 8% a $50 sale costs $4.64 in TikTok fees, still well under eBay's $8.88. Check the rate on your settlement statement and enter it in the TikTok Shop calculator.
